July 4,2009.... The Day That Changed My Life

It was a hot summer day in malad. I was with my family all weekend looking forward to some good food and fun. My wife and i were in charge of dinner that day and we started making the best bake beans you ever had. I was asked to go umpire some softball games that afternoon. I felt just fine through out the whole day.I wasnt sick or dehydrated or anything. After i was done with the softball games were over my couzin ben said we had a dodgeball game right now. So we took off and got in the arena and won 3 games with a little break inbetween. Our 4th game we bearly lost and if we would have one we gone to the championship. About 5 min after our last game i had this dull heavy pain in my chest like someone was standing on me and it hurt. My wife said i looked pale. and was confused. I hadnt eaten anything all day except for breakfast and it was around 4pm. i was wondering confused across the park, because i was sweating like never before and felt like i wanted to throw up. After pacing back and for across the field i decided to head towards the bathroom to go throw up. I spotted my dad. He was getting something to eat and i told him that i dont feel good. he asked me what was wrong i told him my chest hurt really bad and i felt like throwing up. he asked if i wanted to go to the hospital and i said yes. He went to go get the truck and bring it to me. I layed down and my energy left me. i couldnt move. I just had the dull pain in my chest that was hurting more and more. When we got to the hospital i thought i was dehydrated untill the dr. gave me a Nitro pill and that helped the pain go away i then relized i was having a heart attack.

Heart Attacks run in the family i guess you could say. My dad has had 2 my brother had one at age 21. he is now 32 and is still doing fine. My grandparents both had heart attacks.

I figured i would have a heart attack one way or another i just didnt think it would be so soon. After the dr. gave me the nitro pill i felt great i stopped sweating my chest pains went away. I was able to talk to my family who were there, and umy strength returned. The nitro pill then stopped working and i felt i was going to die.

They gave me some Morphine and more nitro pills but they did not seem to work anymore. The morphine helped a little bit but i could still feel the pain. They called the lifeflight and it was going to take me to Macadee Hospital but it was raining in pocatello so they could not come. I was hoping for a helicopter ride because i always wanted to ride one but i guess the ambulience would do. I knew all the nurses in the ambulience so it was a good ride. they drove 90 the whole way there and we got there fast. I was trying to enjoy myself the best i can so i would crack a few jokes and felt like waiving to the people as they let the ambulience pass them.

We arrived at macdee and they instantly put me in to the Cath Lab were they send a camera and a wire up through your groined artery and look into all the arterys of your heart. After a hour and a half i was pretty comfortable i just about feel asleep a couple of times but my pillow kept on falling off the skinny bench they had me on. He found one artery closed do to fatty build up and ended up putting a stint in. It was the weirdest feeling. once he put it in i felt better. My heart would flutter which was normal because it was trying to get blood to those arterys that were effect by the closed artery.
